• A ceremony is something with a bunch of RULES and restrictions. • Prayer is relationship, not duty, but a PRIVILEGE . • God is looking for sincere hearts. Simple, HUMBLE , thoughtful, real. • In the New Testament, we are commanded to ASK . • Asking opens us to God’s GOODNESS . • Jeremiah 33:3, “Call to me, and I will ANSWER you.” • Ask and then TRUST God’s answer. WEEK THREE: POSITIONED FOR EFFECTIVE PRAYER • Our world is hurting and morally SICK . • HOW do you pray for healing our world? • “If MY people”—who are they? • Four conditions that must be met: HUMILITY , praying (asking), seeking, turning • Be HONEST that you need help. • Ask and ASK some more. • It all has to do with RELATIONSHIP .

• I express my need, He meets it and I learn to TRUST Him. • Ask in Jesus’ name, it has to do with His CHARACTER . • Seek after God, CHASE after Him. • Humble yourselves, pray (ask), seek MY FACE . • Seek Him EARNESTLY is crucial, with your whole heart. • You don’t turn from something to NOTHING , but to Him. • Isaiah 17:10, “You have FORGOTTEN the God who saves you…” • Metanoia = turn your mind, your THINKING , that is repentance. WEEK FOUR: WHAT TO DO WHEN PRAYERS AREN’T ANSWERED • Get POSITIONED to pray using II Chronicles 7:14. • How do we deal with God not ANSWERING prayer? • Why are there TIMES we have all prayed and not received what we prayed for? • He answers four ways: Not yet WAIT , In a while, In my way, No way. • That can be TOUGH to deal with for all of us.
